Роман Кацман (1969) — израильский литературовед, специалист по современной ивритской и русской литературе, профессор Кафедры еврейской литературы Бар-Иланского университета.

Роман Кацман родился в Житомире (Украина) 26 ноября 1969 года. В 1986—1990 годах учился в Московском автомобилестроительном институте (в те годы — ВТУЗ при ЗИЛе) и служил в Советской Армии. С ноября 1990 года проживает в Израиле. В 1999 году защитил докторскую диссертацию (с отличием) в Университете им. Бар-Илана по теме «Мифопоэзис: теория, метод и его применение к избранным произведениям Ф. М. Достоевского и Ш. Й. Агнона». С 2000 года Кацман преподает на Кафедре еврейской литературы в Университете им. Бар-Илана. С 2016 года — полный профессор, с 2014 по 2017 — заведующий кафедрой. Женат на Татьяне, отец Анны и Эли.

Исследования

Основными сферами научных интересов Кацмана являются еврейская (ивритская) литература XX—XXI веков, литературная теория и поэтика, литературная антропология, мифология и мифотворчество, поэтика жеста, проблема искренности в литературе, альтернативная история, еврейско-русская и русско-израильская литература.

Книга Nostalgia for a Foreign Land: Studies in Russian-Language Literature in Israel посвящена обсуждению ряда тем: творчество Дины Рубиной, двуязычие и неоэклектизм в творчестве Некода Зингера, героизм и виктимность в романах Елизаветы Михайличенко и Юрия Несиса, метафизика и неонативность в романе Михаила Юдсона «Лестница на шкаф».
